9 fanzines designed and printed at the Print Shop with the Guttersnipe Punk Collective.
The Guttersnipe Collective of punks in Telford designed and helped print the Guttersnipe magazine at the Print Shop. They were an ambitious group, active in the Rock against Racism movement, who even started booking their own punk bands to play in Telford, including The Boom Town Rats, as well as organising transport to gigs further afield.
The fanzine included a mixture of articles about the national and local punk culture, particularly Rock against Racism, the Anti-Nazi League and unemployment, as well as articles about young people’s mental health, life in borstal and suicide. This was very unusual at the time. Nine issues of Guttersnipe were produced from 1978 – 80 all printed at the TCA Print Shop.
A TV programme was made about Guttersnipe by the BBC Community Programme Unit. The link to this can be found on the Bibliography and links page.
The TCA worker on this project was Graham Peet.
