All in a Day’s Work (1978)

The Malinslee Drama Group’s first devised show was All in a Day’s Work. The play is based on the group’s experiences of work, including night work, mechanisation, employer- worker relations, redundancy and unemployment. The result, both serious and funny, realistic and stylised, was first performed at the Elephant and Castle, Dawley in April 1978. The efficiency of the Midland Red Bus service was crucial in Telford where the housing was so far from the workplace and the shopping centre. And when the bus did come, it was often full and didn’t stop!
