In this photo, members of the Telford Unemployed Action Group carry their banner into Hyde Park, London, in the national demonstration to protest against unemployment and government cuts. Telford unemployment at over 20% was much higher than the national average. The youth figures were was even worse, running at 40% in the mid 1980’s.
