Local firemen put the finishing touches on their new banner. ‘The Union branch was amazed at having such a design done by the lads themselves’ (Pete Hawkins). The firemen went on to carry the new banner at local anti-cuts rallies and national demonstrations. Other banners include those made with the Telford Pensioners, the Right to Work campaign, the Anti-Nuclear group, the Telford Unemployed ‘United and Fighting’ workshop (Image 30) and the Broseley Labour Party.
