Public Money Jazz Band (1987-89)

Public Money devised and performed their original music and songs which touched on subjects as diverse as the Miner’s Strike, Zola Budd and J.R. Ewing! With a brass section of saxes, trumpet and trombone, a range of percussion and horn, accordion, piano and bass, their show was a unique mix of Jazz and Latin styles with hints of Brecht and Cabaret. The Band played all over Telford, in Worcester, London, Birmingham, Coventry, Nottingham and Chester and at venues in the Alsace Lorraine region of France. In 1988 they visited Brussels, performing at La Botanique. In August 1988, the Band took up a residency at Buster Brown’s, a popular jazz venue at the Edinburgh Festival.
