No More Cream Buns Theatre – Brussels (1988)

This performance took place in the centre of Dawley, Nottingham, Chester, Coventry, St Brussels as part of the May Day Celebrations in Avold in France and at the Fringe Festival in Belgium. It was also performed in Ironbridge, Edinburgh.

The workers prepare to pass through immigration control. The first is spun from one officer to the other until he agrees to call himself Jones. The officers ridicule the second because she fails to understand their questions. The third worker is turned away because his papers are not in order and the fourth is forced to undergo a virginity test. When a black worker appears at the gate, Immigration Control closes. They are reluctant but are finally persuaded to let him through.

The TCA workers in this project were Mark Abel, Bette Abbott, Sally Abbott and Gray Woodruff
