Clic Clic Photography and Posters (1979-1982)

The Clic Clic workshop employed in- depth group discussion and photographs of the group’s daily lives to explore the pressures of being female, young, single and on the dole. The result was six posters with striking images of themselves with their children and challenging titles such as ‘Do as you’re told or you’ll be watched 24 hours a day’, ‘You don’t have to get married’, ‘If you want a boyfriend, we can nick you’,’They shouldn’t treat us different to men’, and ‘Benefits? If you don’t know, you don’t bloody get’.

The TCA workers on this project were Bette Abbott and Graham Peet
